Frequently Asked Questions

How accurate is the visual acuity test?

The visual acuity test in uSagI is designed as a general awareness check, not a clinical measurement. Accuracy depends on holding your device at the specified distance (typically 40 cm) and ensuring your screen brightness is at the recommended level. Results are indicative only — for a medically valid acuity test, please visit an eye care professional.

What is the 20-20-20 rule?

The 20-20-20 rule is a widely recommended guideline for reducing digital eye strain: every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet (6 meters) away for at least 20 seconds. uSagI can remind you to do this at regular intervals throughout the day.

How do I set up the 20-20-20 break reminder?

Go to the Reminders tab and toggle on Eye Break Reminder. You can set the interval (every 15, 20, 30, or 45 minutes) and the active hours. The app sends a local notification — ensure notifications are enabled for uSagI in iOS Settings → Notifications → uSagI.

How does the color blindness test work?

uSagI uses Ishihara-style plates to screen for common forms of color vision deficiency. You will be shown a series of colored dot patterns and asked to identify the number or shape within each. This is a screening tool — a definitive diagnosis requires a clinical evaluation.

Why does the app ask me to set screen brightness?

Screen brightness significantly affects the reliability of visual tests. uSagI asks you to set brightness to 100% before running acuity or color tests to ensure consistent conditions. This also prevents auto-brightness from changing the screen mid-test.

Can I share my test results with my doctor?

Yes. After completing a test, tap the Share button to export your results as a PDF or image. You can share it via email, AirDrop, or any other app. Remember to inform your doctor that these are app-based screening results, not clinical measurements.

How often should I use the eye tests?

As a general guide, running a quick acuity check once a week is sufficient for most users. If you notice a significant change in your results, take a break from screens and consult an eye care professional.

I'm not receiving break reminders — what should I do?

Check the following: (1) Go to iOS Settings → Notifications → uSagI and ensure notifications are allowed. (2) Check that Do Not Disturb is not active during your intended hours. (3) Verify the reminder is enabled in the app under the Reminders tab.

The app is crashing or not responding — what should I do?

Please try: (1) Force-close the app and reopen it. (2) Restart your device. (3) Update to the latest version via the App Store. If the problem persists, email contact@gzlightek.com with your device model and iOS version.

How do I cancel a subscription or request a refund?

Subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID. Go to the App Store → your profile photo → Subscriptions to cancel. Refunds must be requested through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
