Privacy Policy

Privacy by Design. Aumora processes all sound analysis entirely on your device using Apple's Core ML and AVFoundation frameworks. No audio is ever recorded, stored, or transmitted to any server. We cannot hear you — and we designed it that way on purpose.

1. Who We Are

Aumora is developed and maintained by GZLIGHTEK TECHNOLOGY COMPANY LIMITED, a software company based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. If you have any questions about this policy, you can reach us at contact@gzlightek.com.

2. Information We Collect

Aumora is designed to collect as little data as possible. Here is what stays on your device and what, if anything, leaves it:

On-Device Only (never transmitted)

Real-time decibel (dB SPL) measurements computed from your microphone signal
Sound classification results (e.g., speech, traffic, music) generated by on-device ML models
Focus session history, Quiet Scores, and Pomodoro timer records
Sleep noise timeline data, disturbance logs, and Sleep Quality Impact Scores
App preferences and custom threshold settings

Apple Health Integration (with your explicit permission)

If you grant permission, Aumora writes derived sleep noise data (not audio) to Apple Health. This data is stored in Apple's Health app under your control and governed by Apple's privacy policy.
Aumora does not read any other health data from Apple Health.

What We Never Collect

Audio recordings or audio files of any kind
Your name, email address, or any personal identifiers
Location data
Usage analytics or crash reports sent to our servers
Any data that leaves your device without your explicit consent

3. Microphone Access

Aumora requires microphone access to measure ambient sound levels and classify sound sources. The app uses Apple's AVAudioEngine and CoreML frameworks to process audio in real time, entirely on your device's processor.

Raw audio samples are immediately discarded after computing instantaneous dB values and running sound classification. No audio buffer is written to storage or sent over the network at any time. You can revoke microphone permission at any time via Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone. Without microphone access the app cannot function.

4. Data Storage and Retention

All data generated by Aumora is stored locally on your device using iOS's standard app storage (UserDefaults and Core Data). You can configure an auto-deletion window of 1 to 30 days in the app settings. Deleting the app from your device permanently removes all associated data.

We have no access to your data and cannot recover it on your behalf.

5. No Account Required

Aumora does not require you to create an account or sign in. There is no registration process, no email verification, and no user profile stored on our servers — because we have no servers receiving your data.

6. Third-Party Services

Aumora does not integrate any third-party analytics SDKs, advertising networks, or tracking libraries. The app communicates exclusively with:

Apple App Store — for app distribution and optional in-app crash reporting if enabled in iOS settings (governed by Apple's privacy policy)
Apple Health — only if you grant explicit permission, to write sleep noise summaries

7. Children's Privacy

Aumora is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app collects no personal information at all, it is safe for general audiences.

8. Your Rights

Because all data is stored locally on your device and we collect no personal information on our servers, traditional data-subject rights (access, rectification, erasure) are exercised directly on your device:

To delete your data: use the in-app "Clear History" option or delete the app
To revoke microphone access: iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone → Aumora
To remove Health data: Apple Health app → Browse → manage data categories

9. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and include a notice in the app's next update release notes. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
